Welcome to the HD Centre
The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (the HD Centre) is an independent organisation, based in Geneva, Switzerland, dedicated to helping improve the global response to armed conflict.
We attempt to achieve this by mediating directly between warring parties, providing support to other mediators and helping to improve the practice of mediation. In all our mediation efforts, the ultimate goal is to prevent human suffering.
We maintain a neutral stance towards the warring parties that we mediate between and, in order to maintain our impartiality we are funded by a variety of governments, private foundations and philanthropists.
The HD Centre is involved in helping to mediate conflicts between warring factions around the world.
Take a look at some of the peace processes we are currently involved in, including Darfur, Central African Republic, Timor Leste, Kenya and The Philippines.
We assist global mediation efforts by providing thematic and technical support.
This includes helping to exchange knowledge among mediators, direct support to mediation processes, developing practical tools, and helping others strengthen their own mediation capacity.
