Starting date: September 2023

The Fundraising Consultant will be engaged by HD in Singapore. The Consultant will play a key role in fundraising in Southeast Asia (e.g. Corporations, Foundations and Private Donors).

To carry this out, the Consultant will work under the supervision of the Asia Regional team in the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors. The Consultant will report directly to the Regional Director (South & Southeast Asia). The Consultant will manage fundraising activities related to Private Partnerships & Philanthropy in the region, to generate additional income from major donors, philanthropists, foundations, and corporations in support of HD’s activities.

The Fundraising Consultant will advise, lead and manage a range of fundraising projects.

  1. Develop & implement the fundraising strategies (Private Partnerships and Philanthropy) for HD in Asia.
  2. Explore and identify potential and innovative sources of funding and partnerships from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  3. Identify & Implement activities that help to grow the donor base in Asia.
  4. Forge beneficial and long-lasting partnerships and relationships with new donors.
  5. Represent HD in interactions with (potential) donors where needed;

Desired Qualifications

Education:  A relevant university degree (MA/BA) in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Political Science, or other related discipline.

Skills/Experience:

  • Fundraising and partnership experience, working with governments, high-net-worth individuals, corporates and foundations raising min. CHF 150,000 annually. Good knowledge of fundraising trends and environment in Asia.
  • Minimum 5-6 years of fundraising experience in a not-for-profit organization or an international organization.
  • Proven ability to meet fundraising targets and negotiate and secure government, corporate and foundation partnerships.
  • Proven track record with building and maintaining long term Government, Private Partnerships and Philanthropy.
  • Must be able to work discreetly and independently.
  • Experienced in managing high level meetings in combination with excellent writing, presentation and communication skill.

Language Requirements: Fluency in written and spoken English.
