Project Associate - Moldova

HD in Moldova provides support to efforts aimed at complementing the peace process and de-escalating tensions between conflict parties and finding a comprehensive, by facilitating dialogue and offering its mediation expertise and advice.
The Project Associate will contribute to this work by supporting the Project Manager both substantively and administratively, respecting the internal procedures and policies, and the ones from external donors.
The Project Associate will have the following responsibilities:
Support for research and analysis
- Contribute to context and conflict analysis: monitoring of news, official statements, evolving legislation and relevant information related to the conflict or other relevant issues.
Project’s support
- Liaise with interlocutors involved in the project: civil society, think tanks, experts, etc.
- Support the preparation of meetings and conferences: logistics and documentation;
- Support the projects’ activities.
MEAL
- Assist in the capturing of results and lessons learnt;
- Contribute to the identification and development of fields of engagement;
- Contribute to team discussions on strategies, results and MEAL.
Qualifications:
- University degree in a relevant area, such as international relations, peace and conflicts, law, history, political science or equivalent in years of experience;
- At least two years of professional experience working with international organisations, government, donor institutions, or non-government organisations
- Strong research and analytical skills;
- Strong writing and editing skills;
- Knowledge of and experience in conflict resolution, mediation and related humanitarian issues;
- Deep political, economic and cultural knowledge of Ukraine and the wider region;
- Strong organizational skills and experience dealing with administrative processes;
- Experience with MEL, grants management and donor reporting is considered an asset;
Personality
- Capacity to work in an international team with different backgrounds and experience;
- Strong sense of discipline; ability to self-organise and multi-task;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, good listener;
- Ability to exercise good judgement, especially related to risks and opportunities;
- A sense of initiative, entrepreneurship and strategy;
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
