The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) warmly congratulates the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet on its well-deserved Nobel Peace Prize and would like to reiterate its admiration of Tunisian’s political leaders who participated in this dialogue process and ensured its success.
This process demonstrated that inclusive dialogue can help stabilize a country and bring people together to surmount seemingly overwhelming challenges.
In recent years, Tunisians have demonstrated their capacity to unite in times of crisis, to make difficult compromises and to reach consensus in the national interest.
HD is proud to have contributed to efforts to foster such compromise through dialogue in Tunisia, and worked to consolidate Tunisia’s fragile transition to democracy.
Knowing that greater challenges lie ahead, HD remains engaged in Tunisia working to help institutional and political actors to manage and respond to the challenges their country faces using the tools of dialogue and mediation.
