The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies have made their institutional partnership official today.

In a ceremony held at the Graduate Institute in Geneva, Dr David Harland, HD’s Executive Director, and Mr Philippe Burrin, the Graduate Institute’s Director, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which details the collaboration between their respective organisations.

In the framework of this partnership, HD will contribute some of its operational experience in mediation and peacemaking to the Graduate Institute’s courses, seminars and Executive Education programmes.

The Institute, in turn, will provide teaching material, resources and academic expertise to support HD’s critical reflection on mediation practice in the field.

“I am very grateful to the Graduate Institute and its Director, Mr Burrin, for support in bringing this Memorandum of Understanding to fruition,” said Dr Harland.

“Collaboration between our institutions has been very positive so far. Both have benefited from this exchange of expertise and resources, and the signing of this MoU today will take this valued partnership one step further.”

HD’s ongoing collaboration with the Graduate Institute affirms Geneva’s unique role as a global hub for action and reflection on humanitarian and peacemaking issues.
