The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD) is committed to enhancing its capacity to mainstream gender and inclusion considerations across its mediation processes (promoting the meaningful participation of women, youth and civil society in peace processes) and outcomes (fostering gender-responsive agreements).
As part of this initiative, HD aims to integrate gender more comprehensively across all HD activities, projects and programmes, in part through capacity building, guidance and learning.
HD’s Gender-responsive and Inclusive Peacemaking team sits within the Mediation Support and Policy Unit (MESU), which supports HD initiatives around the world with project design, strategic planning, training and technical advice, as well as monitoring and evaluation processes.

Reporting to the Gender and Inclusion (GINC) focal point, tasks may include:
• Supporting the GINC team in the design, development and implementation of a self-paced e-learning course;
• Assisting in GINC and MESU knowledge management, including by organising existing resources and contributing to the re-design of documents, where needed;
• Synthesising substantive information in visually engaging formats, such as infographics, organograms, tables, charts, etc.
• Supporting with donor relationships and partnerships, including by helping track GINC commitments, project activities, deliverables and ongoing engagements, and drafting reports;
• Conducting background research and preparing short briefs on topics related to gender, inclusion, conflict and peacemaking, as needed;
• Supporting the Mediation Support and Policy Unit, as needed.
The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
• Proven commitment to gender equality and inclusion;
• Collaborative team spirit;
• Studies related to gender and inclusion, peacemaking, international relations, or other related field;
• Demonstrated ability to present/synthesise information visually. Familiarity with some tools (e.g. Canva, Piktochart, Miro, etc.) is considered a plus;
• Strong research and analytical skills, excellent oral and written English skills;
• Strong organisational skills, ability to multi-task and work autonomously;
• English required. French, Spanish, Arabic or other languages spoken in HD areas of operation a plus.

• If the candidate is currently doing a career transition within the framework of an official federal or cantonal scheme (unemployment internship programme).
The candidate will receive a monthly stipend during their internship.

• A short brief answering one of the following requests (half page each, can be in bullet points). You do not need to cite your references.
o Please prepare a short briefing note on the European Union’s current foreign policy priorities – especially as they relate to gender and peacemaking – in order to help the GINC team prepare a fundraising pitch.
o Please prepare a short overview of the state of gender equality in Myanmar to inform an upcoming training.
