Contribute to HD’s projects in Northeast Asia, especially the Environmental Peacemaking – Mekong project, which focuses on bridging gaps between climate change and conflict prevention in the Greater Mekong Region.

(Fixed-Term Contract: 3-month period with the possibility of extension)

Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting HD teams in Beijing and Bangkok in designing dialogues for potential conflict mitigation on climate change-related issues;
• Providing input on project design and facilitating dialogues on climate change and conflict mitigation in the Mekong River;
• Identifying, consulting, and convening dialogues on climate governance among key actors;
• Providing analysis and recommendations on potential regional cooperation on climate change-related issues.

The ideal candidate should have professional knowledge and work experience in social, environmental, and especially climate change-related issues and public policy processes in Lower Mekong Countries. The candidate should have a great understanding of the environmental politics of mainland Southeast Asia and have strong analytical skills. The candidate must be fluent in English.

The position will report to the Deputy Regional Director and being based in Southeast Asia would be preferable.
