Project Associate – Sudan

HD’s programme in Sudan continues to support the ongoing efforts to restore peace and support the development of an inclusive political process in the country. Under this project, HD seeks to provide platforms for dialogue to facilitate consensus building and develop Sudanese led approaches to comprehensive peace and a political transition.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Associate will have the following responsibilities:
Project Management:
Support the day-to-day management of project activities including:
- Provide administrative and operational support for the effective implementation of programme activities;
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for workshops, meetings, and other project-related events, as guided by the Project Manager;
- Facilitate project-related travel arrangements and support conference and event management processes;
- Assist with financial administration, including processing invoices, managing expense claims, and supporting budget tracking as required;
- Conduct regular media monitoring and compile updates to keep the team informed of relevant political and contextual developments impacting the programme;
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project files, records, and documentation in line with organizational standards.
Additional project support:
- Undertake regular field trips to support implementation of activities
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have:
- 3 years of work experience in conflict resolution or in a similar function in Sudan, Horn of Africa region and/or internationally;
- A good understanding of project management with demonstrated administrative experience;
- Experience working in a regional or international organisation preferred;
- Excellent oral and written skills
- Arabic language is a mandatory requirement;
- Experience of and sensitivity in communicating with multicultural and diverse audiences.
- Contextual knowledge and understanding of Sudan will be an added advantage;
- A good understanding of peace and security issues.
- Legal status to work in Kenya
