2024 was one of the worst years in living memory for violent conflict and the number of people affected. As formal diplomacy struggled to keep up, we worked between and beyond official structures to ease tensions, discreetly connect rivals, and create space for dialogue where it mattered most.
This report captures the scale of our work in 2024 across different regions, helping to mediate, facilitate humanitarian access and work towards peace agreements at local, national and inter-state levels. Many of our efforts also draw on HD’s organisational expertise on key global issues that affect conflict dynamics, from climate change to organised crime.
