Managing peace processes – towards more inclusive processes
The African Union (AU) mediation handbook is a three volume publication which compiles material focusing on key issues that mediators encounter in their work. It contains up-to date, user-friendly analysis of recent mediation and peace processes, and examines the main challenges and lessons highlighted by current practice. Readers will also find short case studies and reference material on a range of mediation-related topics.
This third volume focuses on how to make peace processes more inclusive while the other two volumes focus respectively on process questions and thematic areas.
The Handbook’s fourteen chapters have been written by mediation specialists and practitioners: Catherine Barnes, Miek Boltjes, Luc Chounet-Cambas, Chris Fomuniyoh, Priscilla Hayner, Konrad Huber, Ingrid Lehmann, Simon Mason, Thania Paffenholz, Antonia Potter, Meredith Preston, Matthias Siegfried, Michael van Walt van Praag, Teresa Whitfield, and Stefan Wolff.
This publication was developed in partnership with the HD Centre. It is part of the AU’s ongoing efforts to promote an enhanced understanding of peacemaking throughout the continent.
