More than 60 delegates from across Nigeria committed to advancing strategic roles for women in peacemaking and set out dozens of recommended steps at a three-day workshop hosted by HD to promote inclusive dialogue and conflict mediation.

“Urgent attention is required to revive efforts towards women’s meaningful inclusion through deliberate, collective, systematic and sustained action,” they said in their communique after HD’s second Women’s Peace Forum on 7-9 November.

“The drive towards peace and security in any society is more sustainable when women are equal partners in the efforts targeted at conflict prevention, humanitarian and recovery efforts in forging the path for lasting peace.”
