The Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue and Conciliation Resources salute the parties on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

As members of the International Contact Group, we were witness to the utmost dedication and hard work of the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in the many years of negotiation.

We look back proudly at the collective effort that was made by the Parties, the Malaysian facilitator and the international community in their supporting role to reach the agreement signed 10 years ago.

We commend the Government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in continuing to persevere towards the implementation of the CAB, and hope that they remain steadfast in this commitment.

In the decade since the historic signing of the agreement, the people of Mindanao have benefitted from greater peace and security, testifying to the benefits of this landmark peace agreement.

And while there is much that still needs to be done, the achievement stands out all the more in today’s world where peace and the formal means of achieving it are so rarely in evidence.

We all look forward to lasting peace and security for the Bangsamoro autonomous region. We reaffirm our unwavering support for the peace process.

Together, let us redouble our efforts to build a peaceful, prosperous, and inclusive future for the Bangsamoro and all its peoples.
